The pathway to success in first grade is filled with enthusiasm for learning, tremendous curiosity, and extraordinary transformations. With each new day, learners spread their wings of independence as thinkers, readers, scientists, mathematicians, writers, and school citizens. Truly a year of miracles, students in first grade demonstrate academic, social and emotional growth that rivals student progress in other grades, often amazing teachers and parents as they look back from the end of the school year to the beginning. One begins to truly glimpse the possibilities in these children as they not only learn new skills but begin to apply skills in new and more independent ways.
