Fourth grade students are learning that responsibility is a part of maturation and a sense of pride is developing as the students practice making appropriate choices. As their self-confidence increases, their sense of venture is expanding to new opportunities. Independent reading is a major segment of developing reading skills through literature. Exploring various genres is encouraged as well as rigor of text. Respect, friendship, and empathy for others are valuable goals for fourth graders. |
